Sailing : New Zealanders excel at Sail Melbourne

Conditions at the Sail Melbourne Regatta in Australia may be light and challenging but early indicators are promising for the Kiwis, in this important regatta:
• David McDiarmid lies in second place in the 49er class, with his score tally including a win in race 3.
• New Zealanders hold two of the top three places in the RS:X Men’s Class. They are Antonio Cozzolino (2nd) and Dean Thompson (3rd)
• Michael Bullot is winning the Laser Full Rig class, and holds a second placing, a sixth and a win. James Sandall is placed third in the same class.
• Rachel Basevi is currently placed third in the Laser Radial class. She has won win, from Race 2. Sara Winther is placed sixth. There are 35 entrants in this class.
• Kate Ellingham is third in the RS:X Women & Youth class after a 4th and a 3rd.
