Cricket : Firebirds duo dominate cricket MVP rankings ahead of next round

Graham Napier and State Wellington Firebirds teammate Luke Woodcock are dominating the overall and State Shield MVP rankings, heading into tomorrow's round of State Shield cricket.

Despite limited success with the ball in his last two outings, Napier has found his form with the bat to maintain his place at the top of the MVP table for a third week. Woodcock impressed with 3 for 31 in the 6-wicket victory over the State Central Stags, and followed this up with another 3 wicket haul in the loss to the State Auckland Aces. The all rounder has impressed with his slow left arm bowling, but has also added valuable runs for his team with the bat. The pair will again be in action with their Firebirds team mates against the State Northern Knights in Wellington tomorrow.

State Otago Volts captain Craig Cumming is now seventh on the overall MVP table with an impressive 107 against the Wizards. The Volts now sit third on the State Shield table behind new leaders the State Northern Knights.
