Cricket : Tickets still valid for rescheduled dates

New Zealand Cricket, Ticketek and Air New Zealand have combined to ensure cricket fans won’t be disadvantaged by changes to the India tour schedule.

Plans announced today mean fans can use existing tickets for rescheduled games, or receive full refunds. Special arrangements may also be available for people who have already made travel bookings with Air New Zealand.

The extended tour schedule includes two new games – a five-day test in Napier and a Twenty20 international in Christchurch.

Three one-day games (Napier, Wellington and Christchurch) have been rescheduled, as has the Wellington Twenty20 game and the first test in Hamilton.

NZC CEO Justin Vaughan said every effort had been made to keep changes to a minimum. “We want to make sure as many fans as possible can attend games during this exciting tour,” he said.

“There’s been a huge amount of interest in the series already with strong ticket sales. We’re delighted that Ticketek and Air New Zealand have recognised the importance of this tour and are helping to minimise any disruption to people’s plans.”

Tickets already purchased for matches that have been rescheduled will still be valid for the new dates – they do not need to be exchanged.

People who have already purchased tickets but are unable to attend the rescheduled game on the new date can return their ticket for a full refund.

Refunds can be claimed by returning tickets to the point of purchase. If tickets were purchased online or by phone, customers can return their tickets by post or to Ticketek box office locations in Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch.

Ticketek will be contacting people who have purchased tickets to advise them of the changes. Tickets need to be returned before 15 February to claim a refund.

Air New Zealand are also offering a special one-off arrangement for people who have already booked non-refundable flights to attend a match that has been rescheduled.

Travellers who hold flights to a rescheduled match will be able to change the date of travel to match the new dates. Flight changes must be made by 31 January, and travelers may be asked to produce match tickets to support the change. Some conditions may apply - customers should call Air New Zealand on 0800 737 000 to make changes.
