Sailing : Day 46 onboard Roxy in the Vendée Globe

Sam Davies’ daily log - Christmas day

“Happy Christmas everyone!
Well, Father Christmas found Roxy last night and I am a very lucky girl. Still on the Roxy Rollercoaster, I had loads of presents to open this morning. And I am not sure I should tell anyone this, but now I am no longer alone. I have MEN on board. A "surfing Ken" (one of Barbie's ex's) and a "Grow your own male stripper". They must both be quite freezing, as Ken is in boardshorts and a T-shirt, and the stripper - well - it looks like he has already done his job (except the bow-tie). So where we are, I might have to find them some Roxy clothes. Christmas pants, Santa socks, pens, make-up, beauty products, puzzles, games, even a salad growing kit. I am going to be busy for the next few weeks playing with all of that. I also had a great video with messages from everyone recorded on it - it made me smile. THANKS to The Roxy Boys, Jeanne, Miranda, my Roxy girls (Flor, Maritxu, Sophie and everyone else at Roxy),Kate and the boys at FCL, Conrad, my Mum, Dad, Debbie and Romain for a wonderful Christmas! And the biggest present is just to be out here on my beautiful Roxy boat. An opportunity of a lifetime and a Christmas I'll never forget. Happy Christmas to everyone in the race office, and to all the other skippers, especially those who are limping back to port under jury rig - Mike, Dominique, Loick....

At 1100 UK time, Sam Davies aboard Roxy was in 8th position, 1484 miles from race leader Michel Desjoyeaux aboard Foncia
