The Qualifying of the Fuji Xerox Auckland Champs NZMT3 was held today in hot conditions at Scarbro Tennis Centre, Auckland. Top seed Steve Downs had two straight set wins to easily move into the main draw.

Second seed Jackson Bodle was on track after his first round win over Hamish Duff, but fellow Northern player Matt Alexander upset Bodle in the final round winning 6/2 6/1 to see Alexander make the main draw. Third seed Ari Davis was also taken out in the final round by local Adam Lee, meanwhile fourth seed David Clifford was the last qualifier to get through.

In the women's the top two seeds Julia Moriarty and Olivia Isbey made it through without any trouble. Leora Hemmerich knocked out third seed Renata Hryckiewicz in the final round and Zhanna Gonzur beat fourth seed Carli Davis to cement her spot in the main draw.

The draws are the strongest NZMT line up so far, with Dan King-Turner, Marcus Daniell, Adam Thompson all back from the ITF Circuit to play. Kairangi Vano has come back from Australia where she was playing Women's ITFs and is the top seed. Australia's Julia Moriarty comes in as second seed with her WTA ranking of 888 and Shona Lee and Dianne Hollands completes the third and fourth seed line up.
