Daniel King-Turner has reached the final of the Fuji Xerox Auckland Championships in Auckland with a straight-sets win against Adam Thompson.
The score was 6-1 6-3.
The tournament is the third in the NZ Money Tournament Circuit, sponsored by Configure Express, New Zealand's leading women's gym. Wairarapa's Marcus Daniell will be King-Turner’s opponent in the final. Daniell, recently returned from a successful tour of Northern Hemisphere ITF tournaments, defeated Wellington's Finn Tearney 3-6 6-4 6-3. The final will take place today at 5pm at the Scarbro Tennis Centre in Glenn Innes, Auckland.
The women's semi-final was between Pump Scholarship recipients, Aucklanders Kairangi Vano and Shona Lee. The score was 7-6 3-6 6-4 in favour of Vano. Vano, will now face Dianne Hollands in the final. Hollands defeated Julia Moriarty of Australia 7-5 6-3 in her semi-final.
