Golf : Canterbury Expands Its Sponsorship With The EGU

The English Golf Union (EGU) is delighted to announce that Canterbury of New Zealand have agreed to extend their existing sponsorship deal to support the England teams to providing further discounts to EGU Counties and their players.

The initial agreement between the two companies included the supply of training sportswear and Canterbury’s revolutionary IonX baselayer. England’s squads wear Canterbury team sportswear when training, including shorts, tee-shirts and tracksuits and Canterbury IONX baselayer and IONX compression is supplied to all squad members to wear on course and when in recovery.

Canterbury are now offering discounts for all EGU County Unions, officials and players on all of their products via the Canterbury website www.canterburynz.com.

Lynne Fraser, EGU Marketing and PR Manager, commented, “It has been a great advantage for England’s elite players having access to Canterbury technology, that’s already been proven to have training and playing benefits in sports such as rugby. To allow us to offer that access to a wider network of players and support a team at preferential prices is another great advantage to the Canterbury relationship.”

Canterbury clothing is already being worn by former US Open Winner Michael Campbell and Ryder Cup player Jim Furyk and is also being supplied to the European Tour Physio Unit.

Gary Wathen, Sales and Marketing Manager, Canterbury Golf Canterbury added, “The quality of play continues to improve in the amateur game and we are proud to be involved in that process in our work with the EGU. We are delighted to make our product more available to a broader range of top amateurs across the country who we hope will continue to emulate the success of the England players who have recently joined the professional ranks.”
