Sam Davies’ daily log
“For the first time in six days, I have had a whole 24 hours without stopping! Yippeee!
Finally Roxy is happy to be doing speeds of over ten knots. She is skipping over the waves.
Roxy and I are now back in the game. No more slowing down until we are in the channel in Les Sables d'Olonne. I hope anyway! Everything is in maximum stacked positions, the rig and sails are just perfect and we are on fire.
In my tidy-up today, I sorted my dirty washing into one bag. That is not a job to look forward to on my return. The thought crossed my mind that one of the Roxy boys might stumble on the bag by mistake so I figured I'd better label it well.
When I download my weather information, morning and evening, I take a sneaky look at the messages page on my website. It is so amazing and encouraging to see so many people who are supporting me in this race from all over the world. It is a moment in my day that I look forward to now and afterwards I am motivated than ever. I have to quote from one message that made me smile and is just perfect for me and Roxy, from Izzy, the Oppie sailor: BLAST THE MUSIC, ROCK THE BOAT AND KEEP ON GROOVING!
