Tennis : NEW ZEALAND'S FED CUP CAMPAIGN BEGINS

The Fed Cup by BNP Paribas Asia/Oceania Group 1 kicks off today (Wednesday) at the State Tennis Centre in Perth, Australia.

New Zealand has been drawn in Pool A with number one seed Uzbekistan, number four seed India and Indonesia.

Today, the New Zealand team will face India in their first match.

In Pool B the teams are Australia (third seeds), second seeds Chinese Taipei and Thailand.

The NZ team is lead by Marina Erakovic and is joined by Kairangi Vano, Dianne Hollands, Shona Lee and Captain Marcel Vos. Sacha Jones and Ellen Barry were ruled out with injury.

New Zealand take on fourth seeds India today in the first round. NZ need to win their pool to make the final round to play-off for a spot in the World Group II Play-offs.
