The General Committee of the NSW Rugby League has today re-elected Colin Love AM as Chairman for the 2009 season. This will be Mr Love’s 11th year in the position. Several speakers from the General Committee of the NSW Rugby League congratulated the Board on its Centenary year and were high in their praise for the just completed Rugby League World Cup. Three new life members of the NSW Rugby League were elected this evening. South Sydney legend’s Michael Cleary AO and George Piggins joined long time NSWRL Vice President Brian Kurtz in this exclusive club.
NSWRL General Manager Geoff Carr has expressed his pleasure in the General Committee’s selections. “The three new Life Members have all made an outstanding contribution to Rugby League and in particular the NSW Rugby League. It is great to see this honour bestowed on those who thoroughly deserve it,” Carr said.
