Maiden first-class century for Crook

Congratulations to State Wellington Firebirds batsman BJ Crook for scoring his maiden first-class century against the State Otago Volts in the State Championship on Monday.

Crook's innings almost won the game for the Firebirds in a rain affected run chase, but instead the Firebirds ran out of time to achieve a result and had to settle for a draw. With Wellington chasing 322 runs to win, stumps were pulled on the final day with the Firebirds 283 for six, after resuming on 74 for two at the start of the day. Crook and Luke Woodcock had earlier combined in an entertaining 153-run partnership for the fourth wicket before Woodcock was out for 69.
