Wellington club player hits biggest six in New Zealand

Onslow Cricket Club player Jimad Khan recently set the record for the biggest cricket hit in New Zealand by cracking a cricket ball 98.27 metres across the Allied Nationwide Finance Basin Reserve.

Khan beat seven other State BIG HITS contestants including BLACKCAPS sluggers Ian Butler and Jacob Oram to become New Zealand's biggest hitter. He smashed his biggest hit with the third of his four allocated hits, this hit travelling almost four metres further than second placed Butler's. Consistency was also key for Khan as he was the only hitter in the final to surpass 90 metres three times.
