Bullocking prop Matt White will be unleashed against his former club Newcastle at Skilled Park on Sunday after being given the green light to make his debut for the Jetstar Gold Coast Titans.
Jetstar Titans coach John Cartwright today named a full-strength line-up for the clash, with 24-year-old White set to partner representative prop Luke Bailey in the front row against the Knights.
Also included in the squad is another new recruit – flying outside back William Zillman, who will start off the bench in jersey No.17, along with current stars Scott Prince, Anthony Laffranchi, Mat Rogers, Preston Campbell and Ashley Harrison.
Jetstar Titans co-captain Scott Prince said White would add plenty of aggression to the club’s forward pack and described the Inverell junior as a forward who could “run through a brick wall if he had to.”
“I think he’s been great,’’ said Prince of White.
“Through the trials he’s shown a tough attitude – he really stands up to the opposition forward pack.
“It was really evident against the Warriors forward pack, it’s a big strong pack and I thought he held his own.
“It’s good to have a guy now within our ranks that shows a lot of aggression, I think we need something like that and going hand with Luke Baily up front, Bails can play off the back of him and vice versa.
“It’s great to see we’ve got a guy in there who can run through a brick wall if he had to.’’
The Titans will tackle the Knights at 1pm (Qld time) while the club’s National Youth Competition (NYC) under-20s outfit will kick-off proceedings at 10.45am.
