WALSALL Football Club have today completed the loan capture of Birmingham City's Robin Shroot.
The talented 20 year-old, who can play in midfield or out wide, was one of the hottest prospects in the non-League game prior to joining Blues in January.
Coming through the ranks at Wimbledon before joining the Staines Town Academy, he then moved on to AFC Wimbledon and Harrow Borough, where his performances thrust him into the national spotlight with a number of League clubs chasing his signature.
Eventually joining Blues at the turn of this year, the Northern Ireland Under-21 International made his debut in an FA Cup clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers in January.
“We are delighted to have Robin on board,” explained Saddlers’ boss, Chris Hutchings. “He is a player that was mentioned to me when he was at Harrow where he shown a lot of promise.
“The opportunity arose to take him on loan and we are grateful to Alex McLeish for allowing him to come here.
“He can play on both sides of the pitch, so he will give us a few options.
“The team are improving but it is important to enhance the squad even when we are doing reasonably well.”
Shroot arrives on an initial one-month loan and stands by to make his Saddlers' debut at Southend tomorrow (Saturday). He has been allocated squad number 15.
