The first four rounds of Pascoes the Jewellers NZ Residentials in association with Configure Express have been completed which sees the quarterfinals take place tomorrow (Wednesday) at Albany Tennis Park, North Shore.
Eighth seed Matthew Prentice and twelfth seed James Meredith were both forced to withdraw out of the third round with injury and illness respectively. This gave Canterbury's Barrett Franks and Auckland's Adam Lee a spot in the fourth round against each other. Franks won 7-6 6-4 to firm up a spot in the quarterfinals against top seed Rubin Statham.
Sixth seed Finn Tearney took out Steven Downs in the fourth round to take up his place in the quarters against fourth seed Adam Thompson. Meanwhile third seed Marcus Daniell faces Mark Nielsen.
In the last of the men's quarters, second seed Dan King-Turner meets former Davis Cup player James Shortall.
In the women's draw number one seed Kairangi Vano plays former pro Tracey O'Connor in one of the women's quarters while Dianne Hollands meets Abbey Guthrie.
In the bottom half of the draw, in-form 13 year-old Tanya Samodelok meets third seed Shona Lee while Imogen Golder has advanced into the quarterfinals and is up against second seed Leanne Baker.
The women's quarterfinals kick off at 10.30am with the men's to follow (approx 12pm). The doubles events start tomorrow afternoon. Singles semi-finals will be held on Thursday from 11am (Women's) and Men's at 12pm,
The singles and doubles finals will be held on Friday night commencing at 6pm.
