Demand for tickets for this year’s npower Ashes series has been unprecedented. Unfortunately the popularity of this event has created an opportunity for secondary ticketing agents and touts to seek to price–out genuine cricket fans and families by selling on tickets for many times face value.
ECB has already uncovered a number of instances where TwelfthMan members have been found to be selling the tickets they secured through the TwelfthMan allocation on eBay and similar trade sites. We would like to remind members that under the conditions of membership and ticket purchase, tickets are strictly non transferrable. If members are found to be in breach of this, the tickets will be cancelled and your membership revoked. In some cases you may be restricted by the venues from purchasing tickets with them for up to 5 years.
Any tickets that are cancelled or have not been taken up by those who were successful in the ballot, will be made available to currently unsuccessful Ticket or Premium TwelfthMan members via a 2nd ballot.
The following advice and information is offered to all supporters who may be considering buying tickets from secondary agents and ticket touts:
1. Do not buy tickets from an unauthorised sources as you may be refused entry and lose your money.
2. Enforcement action and surveillance is being applied to the secondary ticketing market.
3. Secondary ticket sales are increasingly found to be fronts for forgeries and ticket scams.
4. A ticket touting email hotline set up by ECB to assist fight against.
TwelfthMan members can help in the fight against touting. If you see or hear of tickets being touted, or can provide evidence of people touting tickets, then please report it immediately to the ECB by emailing ashestouting@ecb.co.uk
