Dan King-Turner had a big win today in the first round singles at the Futures Tournament in Berri, Australia.
He came up trumps against big hitting 7th-seeded Miles Armstrong, defeating the Australian in straight sets 6-3 6-3.
Armstrong has an ATP ranking of 345, compared to King-Turner at 469.
In afternoon matches on Tuesday, all three Kiwis in the event - King-Tuner, Rubin and Oliver Statham play their first round doubles. Results should be available tomorrow.
New Zealand's number one player, Rubin Statham will wait until Wednesday for his first match, when he is to face Shao-Xuan Zeng of China.
