NRL TIPPING CONTEST

Exactly one month from the kick off of the 2009 Telstra Premiership Rugby League fans can now start registering for the NRL’s official tipping contest through www.nrl.com

Registrations opened today with over $20,000 of prizes on offer, including a $10,000 NAB iSaver Account for the winner. Second place receives a Sony PlayStation 3 (valued at $699.95) and those finishing third through to tenth will each receive a Sony PlayStation Portable (valued at $279.95).

There will be weekly prizes during the year of $250 as well as a special pre-season prize of a $1,000 NAB iSaver account to one lucky winner who registers before Telstra Premiership kick-off on March 13.

But the biggest honour remains being named as the game’s official number one tipster for 2009.

The NRL’s official competition is expected to top 100,000 entrants with fans able to form their own tipping leagues within the competition - or able to join existing supporter groups such as NSW fans, Queensland fans, club supporter groups and women’s groups.

Your own competition can be as small as the family or the office, or it can be as big as the street or the whole suburb - and all the time you can rate your tipping skills against the wider competition and get access to the game’s official statistics.

With the flexibility to enter your tips as late as five minutes before the start of any match, there is every chance to make the most of the latest information.

From next week fans will also be able to enter the nrl.com official fantasy league with more than $73,000 in prizes on offer including a Toyota car package (Pick from the Isaac Luke and Kurt Gidley-like versatility that comes with the Yaris and Corolla duo, or the Luke Bailey toughness of the Hilux. Alternatively, chose the blistering Brett Stewart-style pace of the Aurion V6, or the all-round Nathan Hindmarsh-like machine: the Rav 4.).
