NZ’s Ben McLachlan in both finals at ITF Junior Tournament in Wellington

Yet another wet day in Wellington at the ITF Junior tennis tournament, but the finalists for tomorrow have been found! And in the boys final , it will be the 'Battle of the Bens.'

In the girls singles it will be an all Japanese final between Miho Kowase and Miyu Kato. Both finalists had straight set wins today with Miho Kowase defeating Risa Ozaki of Japan 6-0 6-2, and Miya Kato winning against Mana Ayukawa also from Japan 6-2 6-4.
There was always going to be a guaranteed New Zealander in the boys singles final with Queenstown’s Ben McLachlan (above) defeating Barrett Franks from Canterbury 6-1 3-6 6-3.

McLachlan will play Ben Wagland from Australia tomorrow in the final.

Wagland had an epic three-set semi final eventually beating Kyle Rowe from South Africa 6-7 7-6 6-3.

In the doubles, Australian pairing Molly Polak and Vittorija Rajicic will play fellow Australians Abbie Myers and Jennifer Nguyen for the girls doubles title, while Ben McLachlan and Barrett Franks will play Ben Wagland and Andrew Whittington (AUS) in the boys doubles final.
