Franklin sends Knights down Kent Terrace

With victory over the State Northern Knights on Sunday, the State Wellington Firebirds have made it two from three wins in the State Twenty20 competition to sit second equal behind early leaders the State Otago Volts.

The Firebirds defeated the Knights by 6 wickets and won with more than two overs to spare. James Franklin was the hero with an unbeaten 64 off 31 balls to steer the Firebirds home after skipper Stephen Fleming and Chris Nevin added 54 off six overs in a whirlwind opening partnership.
