Butch Harmon School Of Golf To Accelerate Pace Of Amateur Golf Development

Coaches at Butch Harmon School of Golf in Dubai, located at Dubai Sports City, believe their high-tech facility and experience teaching European PGA Tour professionals can deliver faster results for amateur students of all skill levels.

The Butch Harmon School of Golf, the region’s premier golf instruction institute, has announced its individual ‘tour experience’ golf lesson and packages, a first in the region for golfing enthusiasts to guarantee improvement and rapid development through the use of advanced technology and in-depth tuition.

The Butch Harmon School of Golf is run by Claude Harmon III, an internationally renowned golfing professional who offers a unique style of coaching based on helping each person understand their own game. His methods have delivered lower scores and better, more consistent swings for seasoned tour players, celebrities, and amateurs alike.

“The most common thing I hear from all my amateur students is that they want to hit the golf ball farther, just like the professionals. It’s an easy solution that most students can learn in one session: if you want to gain more speed and power in your swing try to stabilize your lower body,” said Claude Harmon, Director of Instruction at Butch Harmon School of Golf.

The preferred evaluation programme, named Player Development Series, is already in use by Tour professionals and is a six lesson course that focuses on a player’s total game performance. To improve scores and optimize student’s best performance in the shortest time possible, the package includes a physical assessment, high speed video analysis, club fitting, short game skills test, putting evaluation, and TPI 3D swing analysis.

“We take what people do naturally and make it better,” added Harmon, who has taught some of the world’s top golfers including Trevor Immelman, Graeme McDowell, Daren Clarke, and Gaurav Ghei.

The Performance Development Session is a personalized individual golf lesson for players who want to take their game to the next level. Appraisals will be conducted on each student to prepare the style and structure of the right golf lesson they require.

Students warm up for 30-minutes before being met by their instructor for 50 minutes of in-depth tuition. All lessons, which take place at Butch Harmon School of Golf, can utilize physical screening assessment, video analysis, 3-Dimensional Motion Capture Body-Swing Analysis, Trackman Launch Monitor and Sam Puttlab.

Justin Parsons, Senior Teaching Professional at Butch Harmon School of Golf and qualified PGA Professional is a key figure in the local golfing community and has coached all level of golfers in the UAE for more than five years.

“The ability to utilize the technology which we have here enables us to take an very logical approach to coaching- evaluating performance, making corrections and re-testing to assess improvements,” said Parsons.
Some of Parsons’ past and present students include Mikael Lundberg, Emirati golfer Khalid Yousuf, actor Hugh Grant, and US politician, Bill Clinton.

“Each individual, from a first time golf student to professionals like Adam Scott, have one thing in common – they come to us to reach their full golfing potential and improve their game. We do not believe in one way to learn golf; we simplify the game to help our students better understand their own technique, and we have seen great success and improvement so far with our pupils,” concluded Harmon.

The Butch Harmon School of Golf in Dubai will be based next to The Els Club golf course in Dubai Sports City and is part of the Dubai Sports City Academies Campus.

Included within the Dubai Sports City Academies Campus is the Dubai Sports City Football Academy – the home of Manchester United Soccer Schools, Dubai; the WorldHockey Academy, a first of its kind partnership with the International Hockey Federation; a Swimming Academy with a 50 metre training pool; a Rugby Academy; the International Cricket Council’s own ICC Global Cricket Academy and a David Lloyd Tennis Academy.
