The New Zealand Rugby Union, with the assistance of the Blues, is investigating an incident involving Blues player Taniela Moa, NZRU General Manager Professional Rugby Neil Sorensen said today.
“Taniela Moa was involved in an incident, where a bottle was thrown, at a rugby club in Auckland last Saturday afternoon. We have started our own misconduct process, together with Blues team management, which will ascertain the facts and determine any penalty deemed appropriate,” Mr Sorensen concluded.
The Collective Employment Agreement (CEA) between the NZRU and its professional players includes a formal process for investigating any incidents of misconduct.
The NZRU and Blues will make further comment at the completion of the misconduct hearing, which is scheduled to take place in due course.
