New Zealand Junior Davis and Fed Cup Teams announced

The 2009 New Zealand Junior Davis Cup and Fed Cup teams have been announced by Tennis New Zealand.

The players will compete at a qualifying competition in Shepparton in Australia, 15-20 April.

At this regional event around 20 countries from Asia/Oceania will bid to qualify for the world group finals, with the top four teams from our region going through.

The world finals are to be held in San Luis Potosie, Mexico 29 September - 4 October.

The New Zealand teams are:
Junior Davis Cup:
Jaden Grinter (Waikato-Bays)
Jamie Yates (Waikato-Bays)
Chester Espie (Northern)
With Captain Alaistair Hunt, and non-travelling reserves Chris Simich (Auckland) and Wharenui Hawera (Waikato-Bays)

Junior Fed Cup:
Katherine Westbury (ex-Canterbury)
Briar Preston ((Northern/Auckland)
Leela Beattie (Canterbury)
With Captain Peter Blow, and non-travelling reserves Emily Fanning (Southern) and Heidi Stewart (Waikato-Bays)
