Today, Rugby League Players Association (RLPA) Managing Director, Matt Rodwell, announced his resignation to pursue a career in corporate business.
Rodwell has managed the Players Association since January 2006.
“The time is right for me to leave the RLPA and pursue another career path that is in the best interests of my career and family” Rodwell said today.
“I leave the RLPA in good condition with stability at Board level and continued strong membership from the Players within the NRL.” Rodwell added.
“I wish the Association all the success in maintaining and continuing to evolve as the effective representative Player voice in the game”.
Mr. Paul Moreton, RLPA Chairman added, “ I and our Board recognize the fact that Matt has a duty to fulfill his career aspirations, I would add that he has played a pivotal role in developing the strategic footprint and relevance proposition for the Association during his time as Managing Director in turbulent times and we all wish Matt and his family well”.
The RLPA is now searching for an appropriately qualified replacement, with Rodwell expected to finish duties by the end of April 2009.
