WHITE FERNS DEPART FOR THE ICC WOMEN'S WORLD CUP

White Ferns coach Gary Stead says his side leaves Christchurch tomorrow knowing they have a pretty good chance of winning THE 2009 ICC WOMEN'S WORLD CUP.

The White Ferns will arrive in Sydney late tomorrow afternoon local time to put the finishing touches to their World cup preparation.

Warm up matches against Pakistan at Manly Oval, Tuesday and India at Old Kings, Parramatta on Wednesday, will give all players their last opportunities to stake a claim in the playing Eleven for the World Cup Opener against defending World Champions, Australia this Sunday March 8th.

Gary Stead is looking forward to his first World Cup in charge of The White Ferns who he says have worked extremely hard in the lead up.

The former BLACKCAP, says in a tournament situation like this, the pressure is on for The White Ferns to play consistently well throughout the two week World Cup format.

Stead is buoyed by The White Ferns having no injury concerns and says all players are very fit.

The White Ferns depart Christchurch International Airport on flight NZ 83 March 2nd. 3-45pm.
